Neptous is a forum I (Aashish Panthi) created to help students apply to US universities. I curated this site to provide solutions to the problems I personally faced during my application process.

Why should you listen to me? I think I can help you because I am an average student just like most of you. I had a shitty GPA of 3.44, a very achievable SAT score of 1410 (prepared for 10 days), and an essay I wrote in 4 hours just because my flight got delayed and somehow I ended up getting two full tuition scholarships and got into very prestigious colleges like Virginia Tech, Syracuse, Purdue, etc(I couldn’t study there because of finances but now I know my mistakes and what should I have done and how I could have improved my profile).

I have used clickbaity title for sure, like you cannot easily study in the US for free, but believe me when I say this, it is very achievable. I know friends who could have gone into full ride scholarships in some very prestigious colleges(who are now reading in Pulchowk/Thapathali)if they just knew the steps.

So this is the main problem. For most of us, we don’t have enough finances to support our education abroad and we postpone it to masters or just don’t think about it. By education I didn’t mean just going to a country in education visa and start to do minimum wage jobs there. We really want to purse the education and create a career out of it and due to the fear of managing finances we cannot explore our options abroad. But by the end of finishing articles on this site, believe me, you’ll realize you can also study abroad for almost free if you work hard enough.

I am emphasizing this so many times because apart from the students in few schools of Kathmandu and Pokhara, It is not believable for them to think that they can literally get those huge scholarships in a foreign country(USA).

So, for now, trust me that if you are an average student you can get full scholarship.
